the movement began...
i heart bike lanes started as an attitude of gratitude for Saskatoon's first bike lanes.
After years of activism, Saskatoon finally took positive action toward a safe biking network and two people said thank you. This spawned the idea of a massive public display of thanks to the city's major, city councillors, city administration, and cycling advisory committee.
The event brought together 375 Thank You Riders (from babies to a 92 year old), building a deeper biking culture in Saskatoon.
deezine.ca, aims to empower like-minded organizations to host massive Public Displays of Thanks in communities that take positive action towards safe biking networks. The second city to join the iheartbikelanes family was Thunder Bay.
